I have had the HUGE honor of capturing a large majority of this incredible couples story- including their proposal, and their engagement photos! If you know them, you’d agree that Amber and James have the biggest hearts. They’ll move heaven and earth for the people they love. In this case, that was evident in the way those people came together to celebrate them at this Mansion at Bald Hill Wedding.
Not only did their Mansion at Bald Hill wedding start with laughter and happy tears, it ended that way, too. The Game of Thrones details sprinkled throughout the day showcased Amber’s attention to detail and INSANE DIY skills. Not to mention, it was super cool to see a Connecticut wedding bringing little bit of Westeros! The feeling of the day was all about excitement and anticipation leading up to the most well thought out ceremony that included hand fasting- symbolizing the joining of this family. Did I cry? Yes. Of course, I will always cry during a sentimental ceremony.
I couldn’t think of a better setting than The Mansion at Bald Hill venue for this day. The Mansion itself is the absolute embodiment of New England charm. The historical Bed and Breakfast room, named Mr. Bowen’s, served as the setting for Amber and her girls getting ready. Additionally, there were mimosas (is it even a wedding morning without mimosas?!), and plenty of room for hair and makeup and a photographer (me!) grabbing all the best shots of the morning.
The Mansion at Bald Hill wedding ceremony space is newly landscaped with a cedar trellis. I think we can agree that this makes a stunning entrance for a stunning bride! For this spring wedding at the Mansion, the weeping cherry trees were in full force along with some of the best grass I’ve ever seen. It was super important to Amber that the cherry trees were in bloom, so we made sure to do their couples photos with the gorgeous pink flowers as a backdrop. You’ll have to keep scrolling to see how they came out, but let me tell you- STUNNING!
The night ended with amazing food, speeches, and everyone on the dance floor tearing it up. If you know me, you know that means I was also out there and I HAD to do the wobble. Everyone has a favorite part of the wedding day. Some people love the ceremony most, while others love the first look. While this may be true, you can’t deny that a reception is where the most fun is had. A wedding day goes by in a blink. This part of the day is where everyone can truly let loose and freaking CELEBRATE!
